One thing is for sure: the kitchen can get very dirty very quickly. And while this may be the worst part of the cooking experience, it doesn’t have to be such a complete disaster. Here are some simple ways to keep the chaos of the kitchen at bay.

Start with a clean table
You may be wondering why to clean before you start cooking. You will end up with a mess anyway. This may be true, but a clean kitchen is much easier to use, and you find that you are more likely to keep things organized and already have a nice, clean base.
Use these tea towels
Chefs cook with shoulder cloths for a reason. And not (just) to look really cool. It’s just extremely convenient. Crispy hob? Spill? No problem! Simply wipe it with a tea towel. It is the perfect cleaning tool as you go along that will save you a lot of trouble on the road.

Prepare and measure everything in advance
When you see exactly what you are working on, it is easier to avoid a mess. Try placing your herbs and spices in small bowls. Sure, you’ll find more dishes, but at least it will keep your kitchen tidier.
You can easily use decorative plates and casseroles, especially if you are preparing your own vegetables. Just a quick rinse and the tour is played!
