Last Tuesday, the Osartis-Marquion community, in partnership with the Silver Fourchette, organized a cooking workshop in the Fresnes-lès-Montauban holiday hall. The goal is to give seniors balanced recipe ideas.
Tuna samoussas, beet mousse, chicken blanquette with beer, cauliflower croquettes… The menu of the day was particularly tempting at the Fresnes-les-Montauban party hall on Tuesday. Seventeen seniors from the territory of Osartis-Marquion were invited by the community to discover the Silver Fourchette program.
They met a dietitian, Audrey Patinier, who reminded them of the different food families and gave them the ches of a balanced and age-appropriate diet. In fact, from the age of 60, the needs change. We need more calcium, more hydration, more regular eating of fruits and vegetables and so on. Then, under the advice of the chef, Anne-Catherine Baude, they concocted the dishes “in a good mood” and tasted them together. A very convivial moment.
“It’s great, actions like this”
“It’s great actions like this, after 2 hollow years because of Covid. It allows for meetings. Personally, I came across former colleagues at Biache-Saint-Vaast College where I was a teacher.”Says Annie Lemoine, mayor of Fresnes-les-Montauban and member of the community office, accompanied by the mayor of Biache and vice-president in charge of social action at the interco, Hervé Naglik. “The aim is to give seniors ideas for easy recipes to make at home, to make them want to cook again, and to create connections both between participants and with the professionals here. It is also a way to enhance local food“, Details Marion Bouquet des Chaux, project manager at Silver Fourchette.
Bernard, a resident of Baralle, was rather accustomed to cooking veal blanket but was interested in this chicken recipe. His neighbor doesn’t cook much. He usually lets Madame do it. There is no doubt that this workshop will push him to take more control of the stoves. All the seniors are back with the recipes of the day.
This action was funded by the conference of funders for the prevention of the protection of autonomy. Silver Fourchette is a national program that works with seniors still living at home (as was the case this Tuesday) but also in EHPAD, CCAS, senior clubs…. Organize conferences, gourmet lotteries or formats for EHPAD chefs.
