At néo-assurance Leocare recruits for the creation of new innovative services

Founded in 2017, Leocare Neo-Insurance raised nearly $ 110 million at the end of last year. The company that wants to recruit 100 to 150 employees in 2022 focuses its strategy on the next to with the customers and the creation of innovative services.

Christophe Dandois, co-founder of Leocare

“If I ask you what makes the difference between front TV and Netflix? Between your bank down the street and Revolut? Neo-insurance is exactly the same. ” This is how Christophe Dantois, co-founder of Leocare, positions a new insurance against the historical players in the sector. “These are companies that have put technology at the service of the customer to offer them simpler and more innovative services to simplify their daily lives,” he said.

Start-up relies on three pillars to maintain a different positioning with large insurance companies. Simplicity, adaptability and closeness are these pillars. “We want to have the same customer experience, 100% mobile, for all our insurance products and to be able to adapt to the customer’s needs in order to obtain the right guarantee at the right time,” says Christophe Dantois. We also want to exist in the daily lives of our customers and not just underwriting or claims ”.

In a sector where trust between the customer and his insurer is not always at stake, Christophe Dantois believes that proximity is the main issue. “Historic actors failed to communicate during the confinement where people left their cars in the garage paying the same price for two months,” he said. Thanks to our technology, we can offer guarantees in these conditions, with 15% of the economy. The point is to invite people to use our services and not hide them, to make notifications for more understanding. All of these things are not common in classical actors, ”said Leocare’s boss.

The “Waze of the Accident”

In an attempt to maintain a connection with users outside the two phases, which are the underwriting and the claim, the company has created a series of innovative and cost-free services for policyholders. Takecare is one of them. Currently being tested in Brittany and Île-de-France, this “Accident Waze” allows customers who have shared their location to be warned when they are in an accident-prone area. “It was built with open data by retrieving GPS coordinates of all accidents from the Ministry of Transport,” said Christophe Dantois. We also bought streams from players like Michelin and weather professionals. ”

However, the Rennes-based R&D teams reconstituted the traffic conditions and the brightness of the whole accident. „We then consolidated all this and put in place algorithms to determine the percentage of risk at the time, add the co-founder of the company, We then send a notification to the customer when he is in this zone and in accidental conditions ”. This device must be extended throughout the territory at the beginning of September.

Thermal, electric: same price

The company also wants to position itself in the ecological transition by helping its customers to evolve their means of transport. “Today, ecology remains accessible to CSP + because an electric car is more expensive, and so is its insurance,” notes Christophe Dantois. When the candidate Emmanuel Macron promised a leasing offer of 100 euros per month for an electric car in favor of the least assimilated, the owner of Leocare also wants the adapter of his tariffs. “To make this transition accessible to as many people as possible, we provide a thermal vehicle and its electric equivalent at the same price,” he explains.

Between 100 and 150 recruitments

At the end of 2021, Leocare raised almost 110 million euros for further growth. Today the company is eating a € 40 million stake in a € 35 billion insurance cake in the Hexagon. Investments will take place in R&D to consolidate and create new services or in the sales force to increase the notoriety of non-insurance. More start-ups need to be new strategic partnerships. “We will be announcing two partnerships with market leaders in early June. One in the field of car expertise and the other in home safety, ”said Christophe Dantois.

Finally, the company, only based in France at the moment, has desires in Europe. Spain will be the first country targeted by Leocare with a rollout scheduled for October. For the suites, the ambitions are great. “We want to be at a rate of two countries a year,” said the company’s co-founder. All these projects will require significant recruitment, which will double the number of staff. Leocare currently has 104 employees, but wants to see the arrival of 100 to 150 new employees this year 2022.
