At Totuma, enjoy Venezuela-style street food

Korean, New York, Vietnamese … La street food from around the world is constantly settling in the capital. In the 11thème Paris arrondissement, rue Alexandre Dumas, Totuma gives us a taste of Venezuelan street food. Opened in June 2021 by Valentina Palacios, a passionate chef from Venezuela, the restaurant is now one of the good addresses in the neighborhood. For less than € 10, you can taste itAREPkind of gluten-free Venezuelan kebab.

What is arepa?

In a cornmeal pancake, Valentina offers a variety of toppings that should delight everyone: traditional beef and black beans, French with pork sausage, burger style with chicken and cheddar or vegetarian. To accompany our dish, we find homemade fruit juices or rum-based cocktails, such as Venezuela mulea revisited Moscow Mule.

To start our meal with a dose of cheese, it is with pleasure that we discover them tequeños, donuts with melted cheese or homemade guacamole, served with cassava chips, sweet potato and plantain that will convince even the most complicated palates. And if you still want cheese, you can try them slices of cheesebaked plantain, for a sweet-salty mixture to fall to the ground.

However: an invitation to discover Venezuela

In an intimate restaurant with an open kitchen, wooden tables and warm welcoming new colors. At the end of the week, Valentina invites us to discover the Venezuelan brunch, served from 11:30 to 16:00. Opportunity to discover a revised version of Cachapa, a typical Venezuelan dish with pork, salmon or in its vegetarian version, accompanied by homemade pastries and fresh fruit. And to finish on a sweet note, we taste the chocolate tequeños, a sweet version of those served as a starter.
