Bastianini dominates tests 2 of the French Grand Prix, Zarco 4th, Quartararo 6th

In a second session that saw many drivers go ashore (Mir, Bezzecchi, Marini …), Enea Bastianini managed to hold on to her wheels to go and take first place in the 2nd test of the French Grand Prix, this Friday afternoon at Le Mans. The Italian driver from Gresini was not on his plate during the morning (12th), but he ended up in a cannonball to complete a lap in 1’31”148.

For four hundredths, Bastianini at the same time took the record of the track that belongs to Johann Zarco. And to respect the theme of the day, after a few seconds plus later.

Miller 11th, Marquez 15th

After a short tussle with the defender, Fabio Quartararo finally tucked the ball home. The world champion relegated to 6th place, 0”492 behind Bastianini, leaving Johann Zarco’s first French place.

The Pramac driver placed 4th (at 0”360), recovering without any problems from his road trip in the baffle that led him to plunge straight into the gravel. Ahead of him, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia, at 0”202) and Alex Rins (Suzuki, at 0”297) finished in 2nd and 3rd position.

At the moment, Jack Miller (11th), winner of the French GP last year, and Marc Marquez (15th) naked are not qualified for Saturday’s Q2.
