Catching Covid-19 more than once increases the risk of serious complications

Today, it is possible to attract Covid-19 several times.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is an extremely studied virus in the world. Since its discovery, a very large number of scientific articles have been published à son sujet. Contrary to the fact that l’on croyait au debut, it is tout à fait possible to be infected several times by virus or par un de ses variants. C’est à question que les auteurs d’une étude recently published this in the prestigious journal The nature they tried to answer.

A cohort was constituted, composed of 443,588 individuals who were infected only once by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, 40,947 individuals who were infected several times (two or more) and 5,334,729 persons who ‘ayant jamais were contaminated by the virus. The judging criteria were evaluated in six months and were as follows: le décès, les hospitalizations and les sequelles dans diverse organes.

Comparées aux personnes infected only once, people who were infected more than once by the virus had a risk of death, hospitalizations and complications. Complications were of pulmonary, cardiovascular, hematological, gastrointestinal, hormonal (diabetes), renal, psychiatric, musculoskeletal and neurological origin. The risk was dependent on the number of infections due to SARS-CoV-2: the more the number of infections, the more the risk (…)
