Robinson Sheppard Shapiro (RSS) is taking over. The firm welcomes these days Katherine Duchesne and to Rosalie Rouillardwhich come to foam his practice in insurance law.

Lawyer Katherine Duchesne has a somewhat unusual background. She completed her bachelor’s degree in law at the University of Leicester, UK in 2019. Back in the country, she attended the University of Montreal’s civil law refresher program. She has been a member of the Bar since February.

Despite his recent affidavit, Mr. Duchesne has collaborated on professional liability matters, most notably in defense of insurance brokers and real estate brokers.

Her practice has also led her to file for general liability, both claim and defense, as well as damage insurance files. She regularly assists senior lawyers in large-scale cases.

The members of the Jeune Barreau de Montréal are particularly interested in matters of professional responsibility and disciplinary law.

The group’s co-manager, Mariella De Stefano, rejoices at his arrival. “Katherine embodies the new generation of lawyers who join RSS.” The marriage between their dynamism and the rich history of the firm is the happiest: Katherine will soon be demonstrating it, ”she said in a statement.

Rosalie Rouillard’s practice focuses on insurance and liability litigation.

Even though he has not been a member of the Barreau since 2021, he has a varied experience. This includes internships at the Quebec Court, legal aid and in Canadian portfolio management litigation.

Prior to joining RSS, Mr. Rouillard did her internship and practiced as a solicitor at Goldwater, Dubé. His passage was already formative. She has developed several skills, especially in advocacy, writing and negotiation.

Mariella De Stefano welcomes him with open arms. “Rosalie, like our recent recruits, sees RSS as an environment of which she will be an integral part and which will help make it even more efficient and dynamic.” RSS really has the wind in its sails with these young lawyers! She says.
