Last Album: Red Moon (2019)

Even its air is lunar. It is a studio buried, very deep, in the bowels of a Swiss city, the walls reflect. Erik Truffaz donned a white shirt that instantly wrinkles, his glasses hanging at the end of a cord. There’s an older microphone in front of him in a secluded cabin – he’s blowing a trumpet older than him. Everything breathes patina. The weather. The trick. Then he starts singing. A wheeled child’s song. A song of the soul rendered. Truffaz’s trumpet is connected to underwater worlds, frequented peaks, prayers and nursery rhymes. He pretends nothing. He does not play the poet. But in this song, “Red Moon,” he draws the sound of the breath. Red is the moon. To see a blood moon, several factors must be combined. At the time of a total eclipse, the moon, earth, and sun must be in focus. The moon must be at its perigee – it is nearing our orbit. It’s a game of mineral lights, promised collisions, happy accidents. The red moon comes from a perfect alignment.
