“I’ve always been passionate about cooking,” he says Bastien Petit. “Yes daily cooking, I test recipes and then share them. I also like culinary photography because I have a special attachment to products and producers. »

Works for Eiffel Tower restaurants

Based in Moulins-la-Marche, Bastien Petit is not a chef, but we can say without a doubt: food and stoves are a true passion.

My grandmother transmitted the kitchen virus to me.

“) I remember when I woke up in the morning, she was already preparing lunch or dinner, and it smelled great. Suddenly, during my entire vacation, I would eat with her, ”he explains.

And this virus from the naked kitchen never left him. At the age of 14, he went to a hotel school to become a cook, but on the spot he discovered management and “enjoyed it”.

After a BTS in hotel management and a master’s degree in tourism, Bastien Petit exercises this management controller in catering for points of sale at the importer and restaurants in the Eiffel Tower, with the knowledge of the first floor brasserie and the prestigious Jules. Verne, awarded a Michelin star and located on the top floor.

I have always worked in finance and management. Today, I also work in collaboration with chefs in making books, in terms of taste, budget and numbers. The idea is to best support them on this part of management.

But that is not his only activity. Failing to own a hat, Bastien Petit has several caps.

In addition to his job as a management controller, he has been teaching cooking classes with the Sports, Leisure and Culture Association in Moulins-la-Marche since the end of April, where he was elected in 2017.

A region he knew a little about from his in-laws, and of which he particularly loved “the hilly, very green side of the landscape,” but also “the beauty of the building, with the old stones.”

Other projects on the table

The first course was about cookies, the next one was about croque-monsieur. A subject he masters well, since Bastien Petit has written a book on croque-monsieur, entitled Les Croqueset sorti in September 2021.

The editor had the first contact, the car also had a kitchen blog and an Instagram account, which he shares with bcook recipes. leblog. He is also working on a second book that will bring together 52 recipes for melted and au gratin cheese.

So many activities focused on sharing and transmission, two values that are close to the heart of the Moulinois. In addition to all these activities, Bastien Petit still has a project on the table.

I always keep in mind to open a delicatessen, dining cellar and cooking race. Create a very specialized place to live around the products of the Perche.
