Opened in 2021 by Tenzin Tsang Lobsang Gyaltsen and his wife, the Tibetan restaurant on Saint-Julien Street crossed the Seine on June 7, 2022 and moved to 83 Écuyère Street, right bank.
Arriving separately in France more than seven years ago, Tenzin Tsang Lobsang Gyaltsen and his wife Gompa Tenzin Dolma first passed through Nepal and various French cities before meeting in Paris and settling in Rouen. They both came from the middle of the restaurant and the native Tibetan decided to open with his partner, on January 5, 2021, his first restaurant, Sopa Sushi Wok rue Saint-Julien, on the left bank of Rouen. He moved his business on June 7, 2022, right bank at 83, rue Écuyère, right in the center.
Appearance and experience souvenirs
The regulars have remained faithful as the cook assures: “As soon as we moved, our customers came to our new address.”
Adorned with traditional tapestry, the diving room coexists in an authentic Tibetan ambiance. In the kitchen, Tenzin Tsang Lobsang Gyaltsen offers dishes from his homeland like le Chicken thentuk (€ 7.50) consisting of homemade noodles, vegetables and chicken. His wife, the manager of the room, admits to preferring them “Momos”, ravioli made with water and flour and topped with a choice (beef, chicken or vegetables) and onions (€ 7). This dish is a memory of his childhood: “As a kid, I used to ask my mom for momos.”
The chef also offers Japanese dishes, don’t appreciate the technique of his years of business. Customers can choose from a wide selection of sushi, yakitoris or encore sashimis.
