Life Insurance – 2021 Performance Chart – News

Not a big ebb regarding the performance of life insurance in euros for the year 2021, but a stagnation around a low rate of 1 to 1.3% on average, to the image of 2020.

The 2021 life insurance returns differ little from those of 2020. On average, there is a very slight ebb (between 0.1 and 0.3 points) or stagnation. And even a few slight increases, for example for the contract of the MACSF care, with its 2.1% net of management fees, takes one of the first places in the market. Overall, yields continue to stagnate around a very low average of 1 to 1.3%. Keeping rates close to zero by central banks has not allowed companies to serve better results. However, a return to life insurance in a slightly less sluggish way is beginning to be considered. With the return of some inflation and the rise in key interest rates, real estate loan rates and then euro life insurance funds may eventually recover.

A few hikes

The best service rates are between 1.5 and 2.1% for 2021. It is still the mutual societies that offer them, in general, by not being able to change the rate of return paid compared to the previous year. To do this, they claim to have focused on performance in the financial results for the year and not to have started reserves to secure future returns. Guillaume Rosenwald, General Manager of MACSF Épargne Retraite, whose contract shows 2.10%, also indicates “Maintain annual management rates at 0.5%, one of the lowest in multi-support life insurance”. Behind MACSF, the contracts of Asac-Fapes (1.8%), Mif (1.70%), Afer (1.70%), GMF (1.5%) and SMAVie almost did not fall by one year and show slightly higher than average results.

Also on average are the contracts guaranteed in euros by Maif (1.30%) which also does not change its rate, Fortuneo (1.30%) and Carac (1.20%). At the bottom of the scale are the contracts of several banks (Caisse d’épargne, Société générale, Banque postale) which no longer exceed 0.8%.

Note the closing of the life insurance of the bank ING which ended its activities in France, and the relatively good score (compared to the market which is low…) of the life insurance of the fintech Yomoni which confirms its results of the previous year.
